R&D of new materials for Li-ion battery and running pilot factories for materials and batteries

Team Members

At present, the team has a total of 67 members, including 2 researchers, 4 senior engineers, 15 engineers, 46 experimenters and joint training students.

Project Introduction

Aim to upgrading lithium-ion batteries, the team is developing electrode materials, electrolytes and battery technologies with higher energy density, longer cycle life, safe and more economical. It has developed LiFePO4 ES battery with energy retention rate of more than 80% after 10,000 cycles by using a designed lithium reservoir, and LiFePO4 EV battery with specific energy of more than 230Wh/kg by using a Si-Sn anode material. 3rd generation popular EV battery with an energy density of more than 600Wh/L byusing LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 as cathode material, and high-end EV battery an energy density of more than 1000Wh/L are developing.

 

 Research Direction

1. Dense polycrystalline high-nickel ternary cathode material, reversible specific capacity 230mAh/g;

2. Spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode material with voltage 4.7V vs Li, and reversible specific capacity 135mAh/g;

3. Ultra-high specific capacity silicon-tin anode material with reversible specific capacity 3000mAh/g;

4. Li4SiO4 @ S designer lithium reservoir using at cathode side with irreversible specific capacity 550mAh/g;

5. Electrolyte materials;

6. Battery design and manufacturing technologies.
